A COLOUR LOVER'S PARADISE

Walking me through the house, Smita Thomas, Designer, Multitude of Sins says, "It's a house where stories woven by multiple artists unfold. The house rests its story on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and the quaint characters make their way into every facet of the space."

Yes, the magic rests on the book that comes alive, but the potent power of art is the hero. What is interesting is the various forms of art that create a visual poetry. Each work holds its own and makes an interesting conversation starter. Artwork by Layertape, Nitin Sadhu who uses only brown packing tape; Mechanical, Rahul KP who creates drama with metal; Shunnal Ligade whose graffiti artwork is jawdroppingly stunning, and Nativity, Tawhid Khan for whom nothing is impossible, are some of the artists who have come together to create a space which is theirs as much as it is the owners.

Avid travellers, Manisha Vinod and Ajay Raghavan chanced upon Smita to tell their story. A reflection of their various travels, from a Moroccan-inspired bedroom and the French café inspired dining area, to the Greco-Indian inspired guest bedroom and fairytale-inspired kid's bedroom - the house is akin to a book where creativity and its layers hold the trump card. Surrounded by lush gardens where each little garden holds a story, Manisha and Ajay's space is created to nurture the creative spirit.

Ajay says, "We envisaged our space to bring artists of various forms and functions together, and celebrate their journey." Redefining the concept of a powder room, we love the idea of moving away from regular tiles and adding character and drama to the space. Created by Shunnal Ligade, Bengaluru, it is an entryway into a world where the main characters Alice in Wonderland come alive.
